Henri Matisse

With a vibrant blue theme bringing to mind the French artist’s famous “View to Tangiers” painting, this room features a double bed which boasts a blue and white headboard, complemented by matching curtains, set against plain white walls. A sapphire-blue velvet-coloured chair adds to the splendid marine feel.

This room has cleverly-designed recessed corner shelving, reached through a pillared Moorish arch offering a mosque-like effect, and a compact blue-tiled bathroom.

Matisse was entranced by Tangiers, and stayed here in the city several times, painting various scenes including inside the Kasbah itself. You can follow a path tracing the artist’s route through the Kasbah.
